Prescott's Best Homes Blog

Our “Mile High City” with an elevation of 5347 feet above sea level offers an ideal Four-Season Climate combine with Blue Skies and Fresh Air that rarely exceeds 90 degrees with moderate 45% humidity year-round. Our annual rainfall is 19 inches and snow, yes I said snowfall is 20 inches.

Prescott is a favorite Second Home Get Away to folks living in the Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas Metropolitan areas. The favorite reasons are Climate, Mountain Living (Prescott National Forest), Western Heritage and Culture featuring the “World’s Oldest Rodeo” each year, Year Around Golf at over Seven different courses all within a thirty minute drive. The downtown “Courthouse Plaza” with the favorite “Whiskey Row” area brings thousands of visitors every year offering great restaurants, bars and world class shopping that circles the Plaza.

With a population of less than 50,000 people Prescott offers five colleges with both day and evening courses that are a favorite with our senior community.

Prescott is also known for its wellness industry with three hospitals that are within 15 minutes of each other. First there is the Women’s Wellness Specialists at Yavapai Regional Medical Center East Campus in Prescott Valley, Next, YRMC’s West Campus offers a “State of the Art” James Family Heart Center in additional to regular wellness. And, don’t forget the Northern Arizona Bob Stump Veteran’s Affairs Hospital   .

“But the most important item in the Prescott area is the ability to buy homes at a much reduced rate compared to other Second Home Cities in the SouthWest"' Gorden stated. Golf Course homes that were $650,000 are now in the low $300,000’s and condo’s can be purchased on the course starting in the $120,000 range. Homes in the Williamson Valley area offer acreage with horse property, great mountain views and wonderful amenities in the $250,000 range that were in the $500,000 range just three years ago. Also, very importantly interest rates are at a historically low rate but are starting to climb a bit. We have a favorite website www.myprescottsubdivision.com that offers real time information on housing in the Quad City area by subdivision.

Simply click on the city whether it's Prescott, Chino Valley or Prescott Valley or Dewey-Humboldt and over 60 different subdivisions will appear. Once you are on the subdivision site you can scroll thru the current listings that are updated daily and actually see the different homes and their amenities, plus it offers all the information you need to know about the subdivision, why not take a virtual tour of the homes to get that Prescott feel.

With Prescott being only ninety minutes from Central Phoenix we are an Oasis for second homes buyers that want to get out of the heat in the summer so they can enjoy our Mile High Climate, Outdoor Sports and a Casual Lifestyle. Everyone enjoys spring and summertime on the Courthouse Plaza, bringing their folding chairs and listening to or dancing to the music played nightly. Some enjoy the culture of "Whiskey Row", with it's shopping and resturants. Two Prescott favorite's are The Jersey Lilly Saloon and The Iron Springs Cafe.
